How bonding works
The Hamilton County bail bond process
When someone is in Hamilton County Jail, start by calling our Noblesville office. We explain the bond requirements, paperwork and payment before you decide to proceed.
Call (317) 773-4001- 01
Call with the defendant’s details
Share the full name, date of birth and holding facility. Keep the booking number and bond amount nearby if known. Confirm that the person is held at Hamilton County Jail.
- 02
Review payment and co-signer obligations
The agent explains the premium, available payment methods, any collateral and the agreement. A family member or friend may act as co-signer after understanding the financial responsibilities.
- 03
Complete paperwork and coordinate posting
Follow the agent’s instructions for identification, signatures and payment. Discuss any jail appointment arrangements before travelling. Merideth Bonding handles the agreed bond-posting steps; the jail controls release processing.
Know the cost and responsibility before signing
Premiums are available as low as 8% of the full bond amount. Call for the premium and requirements that apply to this bond. A consultation lets you ask about payment, paperwork and co-signing before proceeding.
The bond amount set by the court, the agency premium and any collateral are separate parts of the arrangement. Merideth Bonding accepts cash, check, credit and debit cards for premiums. Ask the agent about payment options and the total amount needed for this bond.
A co-signer takes on financial obligations that may extend beyond the initial premium. Ask when those obligations end and what happens if the defendant misses court. Read the agreement before signing, and keep a copy of the paperwork and payment receipt.
Coordinate the jail procedure before your visit
Our agents are available every day of the week. Call to discuss the current Hamilton County Jail posting procedure and any appointment arrangements. Jail processing, eligibility and holds may affect posting or release. The time spent completing paperwork is not the same as the defendant’s release time.
After a bond is posted
Keep track of every court date and follow the court’s release conditions. Contact our office with bond questions. For changes to court conditions, travel permission or legal advice, speak with the attorney or court handling the case. If an appearance is missed, contact the attorney and bond agent promptly.
Helping someone from outside the area
You can call from Carmel, Fishers, Westfield, another Hamilton County town or outside Indiana. The holding facility determines whether we can write the bond: we only write bonds for Hamilton County Jail. Tell the agent where you are calling from so you can plan the next steps together.
